Harewood Dog Fest

This month we attended Harewood Dog Fest near Leeds. This was our first time at this Dog Fest location, but it certainly won’t be our last! What a blast we had. With over 16,000 attendees and lots of gorgeous dogs, we were kept very busy.

What Did We Get up to on Friday?

On Friday, we set off on our 3-hour journey, travelling from our Bugalugs HQ in Cumbria to Harewood House to set up our stand ready for the festival. It was a gorgeous day, and as the sun was beaming down on us, we were excited for a weekend of Bugalugs fun. After a couple of hours, we were done setting up the stand, and as always, we had forgotten the range of products we have until they’re laid out in all their glory. It looked fantastic! After setting up, we travelled to our hotel and enjoyed a hearty dinner ready for the festival to kick off early Saturday morning.

Saturday Sell Outs

After an early wakeup call and a quick breakfast we set off on our 20-minute journey to Harewood House. The weather was holding up and we were excited to meet some doggos and their pawrents. The gates opened at 9am and the team, coffee in hand, were at the ready to start Bugalugging. We were overwhelmed by the support we were met with - previous Bugalugs customers, new Bugalugs customers, and some regulars from our TikTok lives came to visit the stand. Our Oatmeal Shampoo, Popcorn Bites and Antiseptic Ear Drops sold out in the first day! Mollie and Chelsea felt like they were on a certain supermarket checkout (you know which one) with the demand the stand received on Saturday afternoon. It was a busy one. We even got to hold some gorgeous puppies and hand out some of our famous, new Popcorn Bites to the older dogs visiting. These went down and treat, and we had a few paws begging for more.

Sunday and the Down Pour

After the excitement of Saturday, the team were ready for an early night to gear up for another busy day. However, we woke up Sunday morning to a very misty, rainy, and dull Leeds. But, as Freddie said, the show must go on!

We put on our waterproofs and headed to Harewood House for a second round of Dog Fest. As the only one with a hood, I (Chelsea) was sent out for coffee. It was very much needed! Despite the rain, Sunday was another successful day, and we were so happy to see people braving the weather with us. A heavy downpour meant festival goers took shelter in our stand and our No Rinse Shampoo and Pet Wipes sold out quickly! We think it was the wet dog smell.

Unfortunately for Mollie, the daddy –long-legs’ also took shelter in our stand and almost a week on, we’re still finding them! One survived the journey back home with us and now resides in the marketing office. His name is Keith.

From Chelsea, Paul, Mollie, and Keith we want to thank everyone that attended Harewood Dog Fest. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was fantastic meeting you. We can’t wait until the next one and we hope you enjoy all your Bugalugs purchases in the meantime. See you at the next one!
