How to Use

The Bugalugs Paw Cleaner is simple and easy to use:

1. Add some water to the paw cleaner (you can add a drop of Bugalugs shampoo too)
2. Guide your dog’s muddy paw into the soft, gentle silicone bristles
3. Twist the cup back and forth as many times as needed to, so that the silicone bristles can loosen dirt and mud and thoroughly clean the paw
4. Remove your dog’s paw from cup, dab dry with a towel and repeat on all paws
5. After use, simply discard the water and rinse clean. For a deeper clean, place the Bugalugs Paw Cleaner in the dishwasher
6. Follow up with Bugalugs Paw Balm if necessary

Maybe just a brush that you can put shampoo in not put paws into a mug. Doesn’t work for my dog. Disliked it a lot. He is a cocker spaniel.

Pink Paw Cleaner Cup for Dogs & Cats (Medium)

Where have these been all my dog-walking days?! These really are great idea, and more importantly, they work! You just fill it with water and a bit of soap, sit your dog on the rug or in the boot, then stick each paw in one at a time, and jiggle it around (I now do this with an old tea-towel in my hand, so that I can immediately dry that paw as I lift it out). Et voila! Clean paws--clean legs too! I got the Medium size, and it's maybe a little too big for my mini-schnauzer, but workable. It measures 15cm high (not including the add-on top brush), and 9cm diameter. For a smaller dog you need to take the large top-brush off, otherwise it's too big. To be honest I'm not sure what the top brush is for anyway; as a bath brush its nodules are a bit short and too close together, plus most of it is a hollow ring, so has no nodules at all. A more useful item might have been a screw-top/push-on lid, as it enables you to fill the foot cleaner before you set out in the car, and leave it to roll around in the boot with no fear that it'll leak. The internal nodules are very soft, reaching into the centre from all sides to clean the paw. You don't think they'll do much, but they work really well if you just rub the cup round a bit and up and down once the paw is inside. Like a lot of dogs, mine has a bit of a thing about anything to do with his paws, but has no issues with this cleaning cup at all. He stands there a bit gingerly with a long-suffering look, but doesn't mind. In all I genuinely wouldn't be without one of these; they work well, they're quick, the dog doesn't mind--and my back seat remains presentable! Wins all-round!

For the price point, I really wasn't expecting much, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when the BUGALUGS Dog Paw Cleaner arrived. The paw cleaner comes presented in a very attractive box, making it really giftable. There are three parts to it, plus a carry loop that the user can attach if they choose to. The cleaner is very good quality and has a feel that it will last and not fall apart in five minutes. To use, simply fill with (warm) water and add a drop of soap if desired. After that, place the dog's paw into the cleaner and twist the top back and forth to loosen the dirt and debris. The silicone is very soft and gentle and removes the dirt quickly and easily. The three parts can be handwashed, but they are dishwasher safe too. I live in a rural area, and we have a bit of a drainage problem around here, meaning the slightest drop of rain turns the fields into quagmires. To that end, the dogs always traipse mud through the house after walks. This cleaner now has pride of place by the door and will be used after every muddy walk. As my dogs are short, they get muddy tummies too, therefore the paw cleaner won't completely alleviate the mud being traipsed through the house issue as they bring it in on their tummies as well as paws, but it will certainly help. Now, if I could get my hand on a similar cleaner for tummies, I'd be laughing.

What size Paw Cleaner do I need?

We’d recommend the Medium Paw Cleaner for any Beagles, Corgis, Cocker Spaniels, French Bull Dogs or Pugs, and any other pet with similar sized paws (3cm-6cm). The Large Paw Cleaner is perfect for Golden Retrievers, Labradors, German Shepherds, Dobermans, and other dogs of a similar size (paw size 5cm-8cm).

Is the Paw Cleaner dishwasher safe?

Yes.

How do I use the Paw Cleaner?

Fill the cup with warm water and add your favourite Bugalugs shampoo, insert your pet’s paw into the cup and twist, allowing the silicone bristles to clean off dirt, mud and irritants from the paw.
