It is recommended that you trim your pets nails every 3-4 weeks and so you want to ensure you have a simple and easy experience, for both yourself and your pet! To do this, keep your pets body close to yours and hold their paw securely, gently pressing to expose the nail.
Unlock the clippers ensuring the safety guard is in place and hold the clippers over the nail at a 45-degree angle, keeping in line with the natural curve of the nail. Cut just the tip of the nail straight across, taking care not to cut the nail too short as you risk cutting into the quick, however if you do accidently cut the quick simply apply Bugalugs Styptic Powder to the nail and apply pressure until the bleeding stops. If your pets’ nails are very long, make sure to only trim a small amount and then trim again in a week. The quick will retract, which will decrease the risk of accidental injury.

Works pretty well for cats and little pets. The clippers are pretty small, and they might split the nail for medium and large size dogs. The quality seems good, and overall, these clippers feel solid, sturdy, and well-made.
These are pretty good pet nail clippers. They have thick hand grips and the cutting mechanism feels robust. I’ve used these on both my dogs and cats. They easily cut my dogs thicker nails efficiently & effortlessly, causing minimal distress to my pooch. The cutting head is a little thicker than cat clippers and I found cutting my delicate cats claws a little more fiddly than the thinner cat clippers I usually use but nonetheless, they still did a good job. I also like the locking feature, helping to keep these safe when not in use. All in all, a decent nail clipper!
These clippers are nice and sharp making light weight of my cats nails. They are really comfortable to hold , much better than the scissor handle type I had before. The handle is grippy as it is rubberised.There is a nail file in the handle , not really useful for a cat , but good for a dog possibly ? There is also a safety clip to keep them closed when not in use. Another safety feature is a metal guard at the back that can be pushed into the center to stop you cutting too far up the nail. I am not that impressed by that as nail lengths vary all the time and I wouldn’t use it as a solution over checking with your eyes where the blood vessel is , although with dark nails it might be of limited use. Much better to know where the vessel is and not cut too short.My main prerequisite for clippers is sharpness so they don’t fray the nail, and these score highly there , so I can easily recommend these, especially at just under six pounds which is a good price.
I ordered the BUGALUGS dog/ cat clippers for use on our cat as he keeps scratching himself, and so needs regular claw cutting.I already have one pair of the same make, as they are very effective and handy, but our house seems to keep eating them.So, it's always useful to have a spare pair.The product arrived well packaged and in very good condition.The pink set of clippers is easy to use with contoured ends for secure clipping.The handle conceals a file to smooth any chips or uneven clipping of each claw.Our cat is usually slightly anxious and fidgety when we cut his claws, but these make light work of cutting the claws cleanly and without causing any further distress or discomfort to your pet.Overall, great quality and value for money.
We have a 16yr old ginger and white cat. Whilst he’s not overweight, he is a big cat, and as such has quite big paws and nails (he weighs 5.2kg and from neck to base of tail 16”). The smaller scissor type nail clippers for cats we’ve found are too small for his nails, and sometimes don’t cut his nails neatly. He’s an indoor cat so they need trimming regularly, but he’s not a massive fan of getting them cut, so it needs to be a quick precise job, that cuts well. At the other end of the scale the regular nail clippers that are like these I find are too big, chunky and cumbersome. These Small/Medium size are absolutely perfect for our boy and make light of what can be a difficult job. They’re easy to hold, and comfortable with enough grip. You can lock them by the way of the button on one side of the handle, and they’re easy to unlock. I like that you have a guide on the clippers too so you don’t take too much nail off. Handy little metal nail file built in to one of the end of the handles. Overall good quality nail clippers for the price.

Strong-feeling, well-packaged good quality clippers with some neat features; namely a safety guard, so you won’t cut your cat or dog’s nails too short, and a nail file neatly stored in the base of the handle. It’ll be interesting to see what the longevity of the cutting blades is like. I’m very impressed with the quality of Bugalugs pet care products (and also rather taken with the cute name, if I’m honest!); I look forward to trying out some of their other items in the future.
I love a lot about these, there is a quality gfeel to them, and everything well thought out, from the clear instructions on the back of the packaging, which i had not seen on other nail clippers i had bought before or seen in the shops, to the little functions, such as nail file which slots into the clippers, lock and guard that should prevent over cutting, and i even like the colour :)
The clippers work for my puppy but I’m a little disappointed as the nail guard keeps moving while I’m trimming the nails. It’s not great especially if you are a newbie at dog nails trimming

My cat hate getting his nails done so I hardly get to use this product and I'd advise not to get the small size for a cat but it does the job and I feel more confident with the safety so I wont hurt my kitty.

I have always hated clipping my dogs nails, I’m always scared I’m going to cut too much off. But now with these clippers I’m not so scared! These clippers and the Bugalugs range is truly great I cannot recommend this brand enough!
Really lightweight love the file feature
These are really nice clippers and easy on your hand. I like that the nail file fits into the handle of the clippers so it won't get lost. It seems like softer metal though so it might lose its sharpness quickly.
I am not a fan of clipping the dog's nails, this is a job for my braver daughter and we both agreed that these are nice, small and neat nail clippers. They cut cleanly through the nail without leaving any jagged or sharp edges and having to re-clip. Out dog hates having her nails clipped and I need to know that I only have to do this the once to avoid distressing her. I would say our dog is medium sized being a small Whippet.The clippers have a little switch to keep them safely closed when not in use. They have a rubber grip on the handle and they are of a small size which makes them easy and comfortable to use. They are also great value so, highly recommend.
Perfect forpets claws very satisfied
Im going to say something that might come across as a little strange, but no matter the price of a pair of clippers, I always find that they go blunt quite easily and need resharpening, so the real question is can you do that yourself or would you be better buying a new pair?Well for me, yes, you can sharpen them so the cost of the clippers isn't so much a factor but the sharpness and ease with which you can clip the claws is. This pair is fairly sharp out the packet, has a good strong spring and of course is easy to store in your cupboard. (I keep mine in my cat supply box which has some cat meds (over the counter stuff like Pro-Kalin), some shampoo and of course some treatment for scratches.They're a good quality and when you add on the bright colours on the handles makes sure that you don't lose them easily.

These are super smooth to use and works like magic. I love the stopper it has. It's a bit far to use for cats but considering these are for dogs too, I'd say this is more meant for them. We had a wee session with my cat and these cuts as well as my old ones that broke not too long ago so I'm really satisfied with these.Also has a neat locking system ad shown in my video.These seem to come in two sizes so these caters both small and big dogs.
These dog claw clippers work well and are easy to use. We first trained our dog slowly to be around them, having them touch their claws to finally clipping off a claw one by one and very slowly. They worked well and are sharp enough to easily cut claws. Lightweight and easy to use.
